Sellers who buy UPC from a treasure or generate UPC in disorder have encountered problems.

Many sellers expressed that when editing old links, there were prompts such as "value exceeds maximum length" at the commodity code on the page.Amazon prompts that it will check the validity of the commodity code according to the relevant database. If the commodity code is not registered in GS1, its associated asin will be prohibited from displaying, and the seller's commodity creation permission may be cancelled.

In the past week or two, there has been a surge of feedback from sellers about Amazon's strict investigation of UPC.

Amazon talked about its GS1 policy,And set a reply period for the seller:"Due 2022 / * * / * *, if you do not reply before the deadline, this item will be removed. The global trade item code of this asin does not match the brand related to this asin. The global trade item code is reliable data used to limit duplicate items in the catalogue and ensure the authenticity of goods. We will verify the authenticity of the global trade item code by checking the GS1 database,Global trade item codes that do not match the information in GS1 will be considered invalid.We recommend that you obtain your Global trade project code directly from GS1 (rather than other third parties that sell the license of Global trade project code) to ensure that the corresponding information is reflected in the GS1 database.If you think we removed your asin by mistake, please contact sales partner support.If you repeatedly create an asin for a brand with which you have no relationship, your permission to create an asin will be revoked. "

 The Seller shall provide 5 items of data for verification:

*A copy of the certificate issued by GS1 showing your legal entity and the prefix of the relevant global trade project code*Evidence that the legal entity on this certificate is related to your brand, such as trademark registration or website showing your goods or brand and its relationship with UPC / EAN owners.(we only consider the official website owned by the brand, manufacturer or UPC / EAN owner - the relationship should be clearly indicated, signed and sealed)

If you are not a brand owner, please provide:

*A copy of a letter or legal agreement from the manufacturer or brand stating that the global trade item code you use to publish the goods is valid and owned by the above manufacturer or brand, or that you have the right to use your own Global trade item code to sell unique goods with its brand.If you use your own Global trade project code, the license letter should indicate that the legal entity associated with your prefix has an association with the brand.The email or letter must also contain the contact information of the brand owner or manufacturer for Amazon to contact for verification, which is located in the footer of the email or stated in the text.If you use your Global trade item code to sell unique goods with your brand, please provide a copy of the certificate issued by GS1 showing your legal entity and the relevant global trade item code prefix.
